SPORT: Remember when football matches were great?

07:58

With sport currently cancelled, many may be missing playing and watching football. So, to share some memories, Bilal Bonsu looks back at one of the most exciting football moments from recent years.

Leicester City were handed the Premier League title after Chelsea overturned a two-nil deficit to draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs knew that only a win will keep their title hopes alive, and it seemed to be going their way. Harry Kane scored the opener, while Heung-Min Son slotted home for the second just before half-time.

But was this all too good, too true to believe that it was game over?

But it was not to be. Gary Cahill headed into the net with nearly an hour on the clock. Tempers boiled over with a few brawls breaking out, with all but one of Spurs players getting a yellow at the end.

With only 7 minutes on the clock, it looked like Tottenham were going to see out the game. Eden Hazard had been Chelsea’s quiet man for this season, until he curled an effort into the top corner which sent Stamford Bridge- and Jamie Vardy’s house- into raptures.

Spurs had themselves only to blame. And at the final whistle, the fans around the Bridge rang out singing ‘Ranieri’ to their former manager. There was only one thing to be said-Leicester were the champions of the Premier League!
